Biography
Dave Ranson began his Aerospace Industry career in 1981 with MOOG Inc., a $2.5B company based in East Aurora, New York, and 11,000 employees in 28 countries. In the ensuing 30 years, he has been responsible for developing leading edge technology for several major aircraft programs; 14 of those years as a Senior Manager, holding positions of Design Engineering Manager, Product Development Manager, Chief Engineer, and Managing Director.

Over the last 12 years, Dave has been responsible for leading virtual engineering teams in the US, UK, Brazil, and India. In mid-2009, Dave assumed the role of Managing Director for the MOOG India Technology Center (MITC), in addition to his role as Chief Engineer – Actuation Component Technologies and Materials. He moved to Bangalore in January, 2010, to focus on building MITC as MOOG Aircraft Control Systems' 6th Global Design Center.

Dave’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, and a Presidential MBA degree from Pepperdine University. Dave is also a Professional Mechanical Engineer, registered in the State of California.

What?! Is Yahoo moving AWAY from the Virtual model?

For many of us, working internationally means that we put a lot of energy into "virtual" presence with colleagues in multiple time zones. We don't have a choice. These days, many would argue that EVERYONE is working virtually, even when their colleagues are only a few steps away in a conference room or cubicle.
